If you've ever tried to run Lawson software A) I'm sorry and B) you'll realize that they can't do it as SaaS because it's so bloated and horrible. Ugh.

RoboTask is pretty cool and free today. Windows only, but there's a lot of Windows admins out there. π

Rational Survivability: Complete Slides: The Four Horsemen Of the Virtualization Security ApocalypseThis is a great presentation. It's worth it if only for the slide with the domo-kuns: "Every time you deploy a security virtual appliance God kills a kitten."

It would seem obvious from your statement about Lawson Software that you have never tried to run any of the other leading ERP products. If you see Lawson as bloated and horrible (your words) I’d love to see your thoughts on Oracle, Peoplesoft and SAP.
Salesforce.com is a well developed tool to do a specific task in the Saas model. Can you fathom how many orders of magnitude more difficult would it be to create an all-encompassing ERP system as Saas?
I’ve never had anything to do with SAP. The rest also suck, but I hold a grudge towards some more than others for the way they sucked, as well as the way the vendors acted.
