Posts like Simon’s make me feel good — I did speed tests on the wifi the first time I used it in-flight. :) Thing is, I wish they’d find a solution for transcontinental flights. I’d love to be online for a 10 hour flight to Europe or South America.

Mr. Tirloni’s blog is a recent discovery of mine, and I like what he writes, mainly because he sees the world as so many IT staff do not. He sees the reality of a situation, not what he thinks should be reality. In this case he’s arguing that you should make it easy to make exceptions, since just about everything you deploy needs customizations. This is an important point, as so many organizations are hindered by draconian & ridiculous standardization policies. Standardize what you can, be flexible when you can’t, and in a lot of cases you can make customizations part of your standards.

An interesting post and worth the read if you do any sort of coding or content creation for your job. A basic understanding of how copyright works is invaluable in today’s society.
