I just read a post from the folks over at Starry Night Lights, talking about compact fluorescent lamps:
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, if every American home replaced just one light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified bulb, we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year, more than $600 million in annual energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars. WOW!!
Assuming that is true wouldn’t the tax rebate I’m getting be better spent as part of a bulk purchase of these things, with a few mailed to every home? Or am I missing something here?
