This came through via the Nagios community. Nagios is #7 on the dumbest list of tools ever. Nobody in their right mind would put Nagios, a useful tool every day, in the same list as Gparted (which you’ll use once or twice a year, tops), Webmin (no self-respecting Linux admin uses Webmin), or Byobu (WTF, an app that tells you your OS version? You don’t know that already?) [UPDATE: Check the comments, Byobu isn’t what this article describes it as]. A list built by people who know nothing about Linux, for sure.

Hmm, hadn’t thought about RV supplies for a water filter, but that makes sense. Looks like they’re only like $25-50ish, and will have all the hose fittings and stuff I need.

A friend of mine who works in US Homeland Security was talking with me a year ago about this sort of thing, that it’s been tough doing social media things within the government entities because of all the unknown dependencies on foreign governments. Do you want to share your links with an agent of the Libyan government? No? Then why have you been using bit.ly?
