His push to ethanol or other carbon-based fuels just seems to short-sighted to me. It is just another stop gap like the Prius. It doesn’t solve the core issue.
Advances in battery technology would make an electric car one of the most eco-friendly “fuels” we could viably have. At that point, it would be like a thin-client on a network: You upgrade the back-end as needed and none of the end users enjoy the benefits.
